Weekend Subway Service Advisory

These weekend service changes are part of the MTA Subway Action Plan, station improvements in Queens and Manhattan, and ongoing maintenance, repair and upgrade work throughout the MTA New York City Transit subway system to maintain and upgrade track, signal, station and other infrastructure in order to provide customers with safe and reliable service.  More information on the 2015-2019 MTA Capital Program is available here

Subway Performance Continues to Show Dramatic Improvements, Reaching Highest Weekday On-Time Performance in Five Years – Subway Action Plan and Enhanced Operations Efforts Are Working

On-Time Performance in March Reached 78%, Up from 65% Last March and Highest Since November 2013; Number of Delays Fell 40% Since March 2018, to less than 38,000; Major Incidents Fell to 50, Down 40% Since Last March; Substantial Improvements Seen Across Broad Range of Metrics;

MTA Announces Enhanced Program to Expand Taxi Use for Entire Paratransit System – And Extension of “On-Demand E-Hail” Pilot

In addition to extending “E-Hail on Demand” pilot, MTA announces expanded taxi usage initiative for paratransit system, allowing the majority of trips system-wide to be completed in taxis or for-hire vehicles (FHV) in future years, up from 33% in 2017 – goal is to further grow share of trips in taxis

This new ‘enhanced broker’ service was developed in close consultation with riders and accessibility advocates
