August 05th, 2014
MTA New York City Transit President Carmen Bianco has announced the appointment of NYC Transit veteran Frank Jezycki to the position of Vice President and Chief Officer for Staten Island Railway. Mr. Jezycki will assume these duties immediately.
With more than 29 years of dedicated service to NYC Transit, Jezycki began his career in 1985 as a Maintainers Helper within the Ventilation & Drainage Department. For the past 25 years, he has held varying supervisory and managerial positions of increasing responsibility within the Department of Subways.
“Throughout his career, Frank has demonstrated a high standard of professionalism and a positive communication style while consistently meeting and exceeding performance expectations,” President Bianco said. In his new position as Vice President and Chief Officer, Jezycki will continue to foster a safe, healthy, and unified work environment to achieve the highest level of customer and employee satisfaction at the Staten Island Railway.
Most recently, Jezycki headed the Infrastructure group in the Department of Subways as the Chief Infrastructure Officer, solidifying his comprehensive background in maintenance, operations, and subway construction practices. Jezycki played a vital role in the critical and successful recovery and rebuilding following Super Storm Sandy and has been an instrumental leader in new technology projects. Previously, he has also served in the Division of Track/Infrastructure, the Division of Station Maintenance, and as a Line General Manager.
“There are many exciting things happening at the Staten Island Railway – from added service to coincide with an enhanced ferry schedule to a new Arthur Kill Station coming in 2015 - all part of our ongoing commitment to provide customers with the best possible service,” Jezycki said. “We will also continue to integrate new technologies like real-time train arrival information and advance our efforts to fortify the Railway for the next big storm. It’s what our customers expect and deserve.”
