MTA Schedules for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

<p>The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) service will operate on special schedules in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day this coming Monday, January 17.</p><center><img class="frame" title="Martin Luther King Jr." alt="Martin Luther King Jr." src="/sites/default/files/archive/imgs/mlk_index.jpg"></center><br /><p><strong>New York City Subway and Staten Island Railway</strong></p><p>The New York City Subway and the Staten Island Railway will operate on a regular weekday schedule. There is no special Get Away service on the Staten Island Railway.</p><p><strong>Buses in New York City and Nassau County</strong></p><p>All buses operated by MTA New York City Transit, the MTA Bus Company, and MTA Long Island Bus will operate on a regular weekday schedule with these exceptions. </p><ul> <li> These nine limited-stop bus routes on Staten Island will not operate: S81, S84, S86, S90, S91, S92, S94, S96, and S98. Local service on these routes will continue to operate.</li> <li>There will be no limited-stop service on these three bus routes in Queens (although local service will continue to run on these routes): Q6, Q25 and Q65.</li></ul><p>The S89 and S93, as well as all other local, express, limited-stop and Select Bus Service buses will run their normal weekday schedules. </p><p><strong>Long Island Rail Road</strong></p><p>The Long Island Rail Road will operate on a holiday schedule with extra eastbound and westbound trains added on various branches to accommodate holiday travelers. Details can be found in the attached LIRR press release and in current timetables available online and at stations.</p><p><strong>Metro-North Railroad</strong></p><p>Metro-North will operate on an enhanced Saturday schedule that is shown in the current timetables available online and at stations.</p><p>At Grand Central Terminal, the walkways that lead north from the train platforms will be closed.</p><p>Most connecting services will operate, except for Dutchess County CTC. The Tappan Zee Express and Croton Falls Shuttle will operate on normal schedules, with evening buses to wait for evening express trains. Also, the following services will operate on reduced schedules timed to match Metro-North's MLK train schedules:</p><ul> <li>Hudson Rail Link </li> <li>Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry </li> <li>Newburgh-Beacon Ferry </li> <li>Newburgh Beacon Stewart Link </li> <li>HART Services: Danbury-Brewster, Katonah-Ridgefield, and New Fairfield-Southeast. </li> <li>Ulster-Poughkeepsie Link </li></ul><p>Besides the Metro-North timetables, MLK schedule information is available by calling 212-532-4900.
