Let Us 'Drive' You to the Auto Show
The Long Island Rail Road is offering discount travel packages to the 2011 New York International Auto Show. Attendees can save up to 30% on admission and rail fare. Come to the show to see some of the hottest cars and trucks ever displayed under one roof. You'll see more sneak peeks, more brand new '11 and '12 production models and more concept vehicles than ever before. It's fun for the whole family!
The Auto Show hours are as follows:
- Sneak Preview Day, Friday, April 22: 10 AM - 10 PM
- Opening Day, Saturday, April 23: 10 AM - 10 PM
- Monday, April 25 through Saturday, April 30: 10 AM -10 PM
- Sundays, April 24 and May 1: 10 AM - 7 PM
Adults traveling from Fare Zones 1 through 10 (Medford, Patchogue, Port Jefferson and all points west) pay just $26 for round-trip rail fare and admission to the Auto Show. Adults from Fare Zones 12 and 14 (Bellport, Yaphank and all points east) pay just $37 for the package. For children aged 5 to 11, the package from any zone is just $4. Seniors 65 and older should check current regular admission and rail fare and compare with adult package price.
LIRR Auto Show package tickets must be purchased in advance at a LIRR ticket office or full service ticket machine. Tickets are good on trains arriving in Penn Station weekdays after 9:30 AM and returning up to 4 AM the following day, or anytime weekends.
LIRR commuters can save $3 off the regular $14 Auto Show admission by presenting a discount coupon at the Auto Show box office, along with your regular monthly or weekly ticket. Discount coupons are available at the Penn Station ticket office.
Getting to the Auto Show from Penn Station: On foot, the Javits Center is a four-block walk from Penn Station. Or, catch the westbound M34 bus at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue or 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, and ride it to 34th Street and Eleventh Avenue.
