MTA LIRR Special Summer Service to Hamptons, Montauk & Greenport

<h2>Cannonball Adding Stops at Hampton Bays &amp; Amagansett; Weekend Service to Greenport &amp; North Fork Resuming </h2>
<p>Bound for the <a href="/lirr/Hamptons/">Hamptons</a> or Montauk Point? Or is it the beautiful North Fork of Long Island that beckons this summer? MTA Long Island Rail Road has extra trains ready to make your journey to the East End convenient and comfortable, while you save time, money and energy getting there. It's the greenest way to go. </p>
<h4><a href="/lirr/Hamptons/ReserveService.htm">Hamptons Reserve Service</a> Aboard Cannonball Express (Fridays Only)</h4>
<p>If your destination is the Hamptons and Montauk, the LIRR's Hamptons Reserve Service aboard the Cannonball is the fast and hassle free way to go. For $37 before boarding ($43 when you pay onboard), you get a one-way reserved seat in a bi-level air-conditioned coach car with ergonomic two-by-two seating on a train that speeds east (Westhampton is the first stop) in time for you to make Happy Hour Reservations guarantee your seat and our courteous attendants serve beverages and snacks. The $37 price includes a one-way off-peak rail ticket for $18.25 and a Hamptons Reserve seat charge of $18.75.</p>
<p>The Cannonball departs on Fridays at 4:06 PM from Hunterspoint Ave. (just a hop from Grand Central Terminal via the 7 subway), connecting at Jamaica Station with trains leaving Penn Station at 3:58 PM and Atlantic Terminal at 3:56 PM. The Cannonball travels express to Westhampton and then stops at Hampton Bays, Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Amagansett and Montauk, making the entire trip in about 2 hours and 45 minutes. The stops at Hampton Bays and Amagansett are new this year and those customers traveling to Amagansett are advised to sit in the third car from the rear of the train, directly in front of the reserved cars. Only this car will platform at Amagansett Station. </p>

<p><a href="/lirr/Hamptons/ReserveService.htm#Online">Online reservations for Hamptons Reserve Service</a>, which require credit card guarantee, are accepted beginning the Wednesday prior to the week you plan to travel through midnight the day before your trip. The LIRR will confirm your reservation by email and give you an assigned seat number or indicate that you have been placed on a waiting list.</p>
<p>Customers not canceling by noon on Thursday will be charged $18.75 for the seat.</p>
<p>Telephone reservations can be made beginning each Monday for travel during the same week. <strong>Hamptons Reserve</strong> representatives are available Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to Noon and 1 to 3 PM, and Fridays, 9 AM to Noon. The reservation phone number is 718-217-LIRR (5477) and say "More Options" and "Hamptons Reserve."</p>
<p>Coach seats on the Cannonball do not require a reservation.</p>
<p>In addition to the Cannonball and the regular schedule of Montauk trains, the LIRR is providing the following extra summer service to the Hamptons and Montauk.</p>
<h4>Friday Only Eastbound Trains (May 27 -; October 7, 2011)</h4>
<ul>
<li>The 1:49 PM train from Hunterspoint Avenue (connecting at Jamaica with the 1:45 PM train from Penn Station), arriving Montauk at 4:45 PM.</li>
<li>The 5:09 PM train from Penn Station (connecting at Jamaica with the 4:59 PM train from Hunterspoint Avenue), arriving Montauk at 8:29 PM.</li>
<li>The 7:38 PM train from Jamaica (connecting at Jamaica with the 7:11 from Penn Station and the 6:41 PM train from Hunterspoint Avenue), arriving Montauk at 10:10 PM.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Sunday Only Westbound Trains (June 5 October 9, 2011; except July 3 &amp; September 4, 2011)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The 1:23 PM train from Montauk, arriving at Penn Station at 4:39 PM.</li>
<li>The 6:37 PM train from Montauk, arriving at Penn Station at 9:39 PM.</li>
<li>The 8:36 PM train from Montauk, arriving at Penn Station at 11:39 PM.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Monday Only Train (June 6 October 10, 2011; except July 4 &amp; September 5, 2011)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The 7:01 AM train from Montauk, arriving at Penn Station at 10:05 AM. But please note that because of extended Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day weekends, this train will NOT operate on Monday, May 31, Monday July 4 or Monday, September 5. It will instead run on Tuesday, June 1, Tuesday, July 5 and Tuesday, September 6.</li>
</ul>
<p>The fares to the Hamptons (Zone 14), are $18.25 off-peak and $25 peak when you purchase your ticket before boarding. On board fares are $24 off-peak and $31 peak.<br />
<h4>Greenport Service Restored</h4>
<p>In addition to the regular daily train service to and from Greenport, the LIRR is resuming weekend service for the summer season with two eastbound trains and two westbound trains each day. That means easy access to the North Fork town of Riverhead and villages of Mattituck, Southold and Greenport, an area that offers a relaxed, scenic escape to hamlets that together comprise a world-class wine region. Trains depart Penn Station twice Monday thru Thursday and three times on Friday for Greenport and twice on Saturday and Sunday. Starting Friday, May 27 and continuing each Friday through October 7, the 3:55 PM train from Penn Station (connecting at Jamaica with trains from Hunterspoint and Atlantic Terminal) with a change of trains at Ronkonkoma, operates to Greenport, arriving at 6:45 PM.</p>
<h4>New Ticket Policy</h4>
<p> As of the December 30, 2010 fare policy change, LIRR one way/round trip tickets are valid for 14 days from date of sale; ten trip tickets are valid for 6 months. Tickets are refundable within 30 days from date of sale, subject to a $10 processing fee. We suggest you purchase ten trip tickets to save time and share with friend. Our off-peak ten trip ticket offers a savings of 15%.</p>
