Take the Train to the Parade!
The big parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at 77th Street and Central Park West and travels to 7th Avenue/Herald Square. There will be additional service on the 42nd Street S shuttle as well as increased early morning service on the No.1 line.
Heavily affected stations will be those along the parade route from 79th Street to 34th Street on the 1, 2, 3 and A, C, E lines. We will monitor the situation for crowding and reroute express trains to the local track as needed. These bus routes serve the area and will be affected by reroutes and/or delays: M5, M7, M10, M16, M20, M34, M42, M57, M66, M72 M104, Q104, QM5, QM6, Q32, X1 and BxM2.
For Long Island Rail Road customers, a holiday schedule will be in effect. Twenty-two extra trains are being added to the holiday schedule for those attending the Parade or visiting their families – including nine extra westbound and 13 extra eastbound trains. Cars will also be added to select trains to accommodate holiday travelers.
Metro-North Railroad also will operate a holiday schedule with extra AM inbound service for parade goers. There will be lots of late morning and early afternoon outbound service to get you home or to the folks' house for that holiday dinner.
