It's one of the best nights of the year, when we say good-bye to the old and welcome the new.

If you're heading out for a New Year's Eve celebration, or are making the rounds on New Year's Day, let the MTA's family of transportation services take you where you want to go.

Long Island Rail Road is adding extra service to and from Penn Station through New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on trains, platforms and stations

Metro-North wants you to resolve to ring in 2013 by train to your New Year's Eve celebrations! On New Year's Eve, service is operating on a Saturday schedule, in addition to the traditional post-midnight late night/early morning service to get you home safely.

Subways and buses operate on a weekday schedule on New Year's Eve, making getting to the ball drop in Times Square or to any other party easy and efficient. On New Year's Day, service will operate on a Sunday schedule.
