Take the LIRR to the U.S. Women’s Open
MTA Long Island Rail Road is providing rail service to Southampton as the best women golfers in the world will battle for the USGA U.S. Women’s Open title at the beautiful Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton.
The LIRR will be providing an additional westbound train to the regular Southampton schedule on Thursday, June 24 and Friday, June 25 and three additional westbound trains on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.
Among the leading golfers in the field of 156 professionals and amateurs will be Paula Creamer, Michele Wie, Cristie Kerr and Natalie Gulbis. All will tee-off on Monday, June 24 playing on Sebonack’s 300 scenic acres nestled on Peconic Bay – a course designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak.
Train service is being provided to the LIRR’s Southampton Station for U.S. Women’s Open beginning Monday, June 24 through Sunday, June 30. At Southampton Station, fans will board free shuttle buses for the short ride to Sebonack Golf Club. Golf fans are encouraged to purchase round-trip tickets before boarding trains, as tickets bought onboard cost more.
