Design Inspiration
Simon's (clip-back) drop earrings were inspired by a wrought iron subway grate, which he executed in 18-karat gold and accented with 14-karat diamond cut chains and black akoya pearls.

About the Designer
Simon Alcantara, a native New Yorker, creates fine jewelry using natural materials including precious stones, bone, exotic woods, and mother-of-pearl. He is known for his magical, whimsical creations, which convey a feeling of exoticism and adventurous spirit. Having previously collaborated with Oscar de la Renta, Balmain Haute Couture, J.Mendel, and Mary McFadden, Simon established his namesake label in 2000. His collection is carried exclusively in New York at Bergdorf Goodman, and at high-end boutiques in the US and abroad.
