Responsibilities: The incumbent will be assigned to the Estimating Unit within the Program Controls Subdivision. As a member of this Unit, the incumbent will prepare capital design and construction cost estimates, including conceptual estimates, to support analyses of project alternatives and feasibility studies. The incumbent will also review contractor submittals for project awards and Additional Work Orders (AWOs) and will participate in related negotiations. Additional duties will concern the support of constructability reviews, risk analysis and value engineering efforts and the preparation of estimates for the impact costs of project delays.

Exper. & Educ.: 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, or business administration and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in the planning, administering or expediting of engineering design and/or construction, or coordinating an engineering project including or supplemented by one year of experience supervising employees performing such tasks or supervising a large and/or complex construction project; or 2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of supervisory experience as described above.

Desired Skills: . In-depth knowledge and experience in of state of the art capital construction cost estimating techniques that ensure accuracy and programmatic cost efficiency . Knowledge of mass transportation facilities including related design and/or construction activities . Knowledge of PC applications related to capital project cost estimation . Knowledge of MTA Capital Program administrative procedures . Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities: The Design Manager has full responsibility for delivery of program standards, guidelines, scopes of work, and designs for all assigned capital projects in one of CPM's designated Program Areas, each Program Area representing the capital project needs of specific Transit operating Department clients. This position may require significant interaction with those operating Departments. (Note: This vacancy notice will be initially used to fill a vacancy in the Buses Program Area.)

Exper. & Educ.: A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License or New York State Registration as an Architect is required. In addition, candidates must possess: A Baccalaureate degree in Engineering or Architecture and at least ten years of practical experience in the engineering/architecture field, including five years of managerial or supervisory experience in design or project engineering/architecture management.

Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for supervising and directing a Capital Signal Engineering Group that will be responsible for developing new design standards, software and interface requirements for Automated Train Supervision (ATS) Systems. In this regard the incumbent will ensure compatibility with the existing Signal System and that control of the new system is included in the NYCT's new Rail Control Center. Duties include interacting with Signals and Systems' Program Area Construction Managers and developing related contract specifications that will be incorporated into bid documents.

Exper. & Educ.: A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License is required. In addition, candidates must possess: A Baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field and at least ten years of related practical experience in the design and/or installation of train supervision or signal systems, five years of which must have been in a managerial and/or supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills: Knowledge of the design of operational diagrams and signal layouts. Knowledge of train car propulsion, brake systems and train control engineering. Knowledge of manipulation charts and circuit design for signal systems Knowledge of PLC and vital microprocessors for Rapid Transit applications. Knowledge of capital construction procedures and field operations. Knowledge of NYCT operations and practices and in-depth knowledge of mass transit facilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
