About FASTRACK
The FASTRACK maintenance program completely suspends train service over a segment of a subway line, to give our workers uninterrupted access to tracks, signals, cables, lighting, third rail components, and platform edges. For the first time, the FASTRACK program will expand outside of Manhattan to address critical system infrastructure in other boroughs. Also new for 2013 are Weekend FASTRACK service changes.

FASTRACK has allowed crews to work more productively, achieving efficiencies valued at $16.7 million in 2012. An additional benefit of the FASTRACK project environment is a significantly lower accident rate experienced by participating employees. During FASTRACK 2012, the Lost Time Accident rate per 100 Employees dropped to 1.38/year versus a rate of 2.42/year during all other operations.
During a FASTRACK shutdown, our employees inspect hundreds of signals and switches, repair and replace track rails and cross ties, clean track floors, perform elevator and escalator repair work, repair water damage, clear drains, and clean stations. We also clear the track-bed of a significant amount of debris. We repaint areas untouched in years, because they are not reachable during normal train operation. We clean lighting fixtures, change bulbs, and repair platform edges. We also perform high-intensity station cleaning providing a visible improvement to the station environment and your commute.
Finally, FASTRACK has also had an impact on the reliability of service; delays have been reduced by 4.4% in areas where FASTRACK work has been performed.

• Make key transfers between trains at Queensboro Plaza , 5 Av/42 St-Bryant Pk ,
Jay St-MetroTech , and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr .
• trains make local stops between Jay St-MetroTech and 36 St.
How will trains operate?
 Two sections (Queens and Brooklyn) as follows:
1. Between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza
2. Between Stillwell Av and Jay St-MetroTech
 Rerouted via the in Manhattan as follows:
• Manhattan-bound: After DeKalb Av, trains run via the to 47-50 Sts, then to the 57 St station,
the last stop.
• Coney Island-bound: Trains originate at the 57 St station then run via the to Brooklyn.
Regular Coney Island-bound service
resumes at DeKalb Av.
 Ends early as follows:
• The last 95 St-bound train
leaves 71 Av at about 9:20 PM.
• The last 71 Av-bound train leaves 95 St at about 9:20 PM.
• In Brooklyn, shuttle service between 36 St and 95 St starts early.
