As of November 15, 2012 Staten Island Railway
Limited Service

Staten Island Railway was
devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
However, we continue to advance
toward normal service.

The St. George Terminal signal system experienced extensive water damage. As a result, train operation at St. George Terminal is severely affected as we can only operate trains on two of the tracks. Customers will experience significant delays arriving and departing the Terminal. Customers are advised to begin travel earlier and allow additional travel time. The Staten Island Railway cannot guarantee timely connections with the Staten Island Ferry.

As extensive work needs to be done to restore normal service out of St. George Terminal, we anticipate that full service will not be restored for approximately 16 weeks. Please be assured that we will be working around the clock to restore service. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

There will be limited weekday service.

Only LOCAL SERVICE in the AM rush hours.

During PM weekday rush hours, trains run a modified EXPRESS/LOCAL service from 4:30 to 7:30 PM

During off-peak hours trains run every 30 minutes.
