Traffic Diverted at Three MTA Crossings Sunday for Bike MS 2013

The Bike MS 2013 event on Sunday, Oct. 6 will impact motorists who normally use the MTA’s Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Motorists should be aware of the closures and use alternate routes if possible.

 Henry Hudson Bridge

7 a.m. to Noon: The Henry Hudson Parkway from the Mosholu Parkway to the bridge and Dyckman Street south to Battery Park via the West Side Highway will be closed and drivers will not be able to access the bridge.

 Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (formerly Brooklyn-Battery)

7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: All traffic exiting the tunnel in Manhattan will be detoured onto West Street heading uptown or through the Trinity Place exit which will remain open. The Battery Park underpass to the FDR Drive and southbound West Street will be closed.

 RFK Bridge

7 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Traffic will not be able to access the RFK Bridge from the northbound FDR Drive as cyclists make their way to the Harlem River Drive from the FDR. In addition, traffic exiting the RFK Harlem River lift span at 125th Street will not be able to access the entrance to the Harlem River Drive.
