Long Island Rail Road Storm Update
Customers Advised to Expect Some Cancellations & Minor Delays During PM Rush Hour Due to Post-Storm Issues
MTA Long Island Rail Road is advising customers to expect some cancellations and minor delays during this evening's rush hour due to lingering weather-related issues as repairs and pumping operations continue in the wake of this morning’s record rainfall.
Service is expected to resume on the Port Jefferson Branch between Huntington and Port Jefferson at 4 PM after workers repaired a section of track bed washed out by the storm. Two eastbound Port  Jefferson trains will be cancelled. In addition, three eastbound trains will be canceled on the Babylon Branch.
Port Jefferson Branch Train Cancellations
  • The 5:12 PM from Hunterspoint Ave. due Port Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:30 PM. train from Long Island City, due Port Jefferson at 7:30 PM.
  • The 5:52 p.m. from Long Island City due Port Jefferson at 8:00 PM is canceled. Customers will be accommodated by the 6:30 PM train from Hunterspoint Avenue, due Port Jefferson at 8:15 PM

Babylon Branch Train Cancellations

  • The 6:33PM from Penn due Babylon at 7:35 PM is canceled. Customers accommodated by the 6:36PM  from Penn due Wantagh at 7:29 PM, extended to Babylon making all combined stops
  • 7:08 PM from Penn due Babylon at 8:20 PM is canceled. Customers accommodated by the 7:30 PM from Penn due Babylon at 8:32 PM, making added stops at Rockville Centre, Baldwin, Freeport, Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, and Seaford stations.
  • 7:41PM from Penn due Babylon at 8:55 PM is canceled. Customer accommodated by the 8:08 PM from Penn due Babylon at 9:23 PM.
