The MTA Long Island Rail Road Hempstead Branch will be affected by a track work program mid-days during the week, April 16-April 27. During the work, customers traveling between Hempstead and Garden City will take buses to complete their trips. Twelve trains are affected, six eastbound and six westbound. The work includes the replacement of wooden track ties with longer lasting concrete track ties.
Customers on the 8:36 AM, 9:32 AM, 10:32 AM, 11:32 AM, 12:32 PM and 1:32 PM trains from Flatbush Avenue will transfer at Garden City to complete their trips to Country Life Press and Hempstead.
Customers on the 9:38 AM, 10:38 AM, 11:38 AM, 12:38 PM, 1:38 PM and 2:38 PM trains from Hempstead will board buses at Hempstead and Country Life Press stations and transfer to trains at Garden City. Buses are scheduled to depart 15 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled train times.
