Vans Replacing Trains Midday Weekdays between Locust Valley & Oyster Bay for Railroad Tie Replacement Work Through June 19
Train Outage Will Begin 9:45 AM and End at 3:30 PM Each Day
Long Island Rail Road track crews will replace track ties on the Oyster Bay Branch through June 19. As a result, the LIRR is busing customers between Locust Valley and Oyster Bay stations weekdays between 9:45 AM and 3:30 PM through June 19. The outage impacts four eastbound trains and four westbound trains each day with customers arriving at their destination approximately 10 minutes later than usual.
Monday, June 3 – Wednesday, June 19
Customers will travel by train to Locust Valley and then board vans to Oyster Bay.
Customers will board vans at Oyster Bay for the trip to Locust Valley where trains will take them to points west.
Spending $70 Million in 2013
The LIRR has budgeted $70 million in 2013 to maintain its track infrastructure in a state of good repair
The work on this segment of the Oyster Bay Branch will help ensure greater service reliability and a smoother, more comfortable ride for customers.
