Metro-North Providing Hourly Diesel Train Service on New Haven Line While Con Edison Works to Restore Electric Power
Diesel Trains Making All Local Stops Between Grand Central and Stamford; Customers Are Advised to Use the Harlem Line As An Alternative

Metro-North will provide extremely limited service on the New Haven Line between Stamford and Grand Central using diesel locomotives due to a Con Edison power problem.

Hourly Eastbound service will be provided from Grand Central Terminal making all local stops to Stamford starting at 9:10 AM.

Hourly Westbound service will be provided from Stamford making all local stops to Grand Central Terminal beginning at 9 AM.

Customers should expect crowded conditions. New Haven Line tickets continue to be cross honored on the Harlem Line. Please listen for announcements at your station.

Regular AM Peak service on the New Haven Line was suspended at 5:30 AM after the unexpected loss of electric power from a Con Edison feeder cable located in Mt.Vernon. Repair efforts by Con Edison are ongoing.

Metro-North regrets the inconvenience this power outage has caused its New Haven Line customers. It will continue to keep the riding public updated with the latest information on its website, via customer email service alerts and through regular reports to the media.
