Metro-North's Memorial Day Getaway Schedule Gets Summer Off to an Early Start
Extra Departures Begin at Noon

Thinking of leaving work early on Friday, May 25? Think Metro-North! There are 19 early
getaway trains to speed your Memorial Day weekend departure.

Beginning at noon, there will be extra early afternoon departures from Grand Central
Terminal on all three lines--Hudson, Harlem and New Haven. All the special trains and
changes are highlighted in the line timetables or visit the schedules page at
www.mta.info.

For the first long weekend of summer, tens of thousands of people leave Manhattan early and
Metro-North has perfected its schedules so that trains are leaving when people want them to
leave.

On Friday, May 25, there are four extra outbound Hudson Line trains, all super expresses to
Poughkeepsie with Beacon the first stop, departing at 1:46 p.m., 2:40 p.m., 3:25 p.m. and 4:05 p.m.

There are four extra outbound Harlem Line express trains: two expresses to Southeast, first
stop Chappaqua departing at 1:45 p.m. and 4:08 p.m., a 3:14 p.m. super-express to White
Plains and North White Plains only and a 3:37 p.m. express to Southeast that makes White
Plains its first stop, then Goldens Bridge and all remaining stops to Southeast.

On the New Haven Line there are 11 extra outbound trains in addition to the regular Friday-
only 3:04 p.m. express. There also is a 1:30 p.m. departure from Stamford that goes through to
Old Saybrook on the Shore Line East.

The New Haven Line extras depart as follows:

12:04 p.m.: express to Westport, then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
1:04 p.m.: express to Westport, then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
1:59 p.m.: express to Stamford then all stops to South Norwalk.
2:04 p.m.: express to Westport, then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
2:28 p.m.: stopping at all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
2:31 p.m.: express to Westport, then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
2:59 p.m.: express to Stamford then all stops to South Norwalk.
3:02 p.m.: stopping at all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
3:23 p.m.: express to Stamford, then Westport and all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
3:27 p.m.: stopping at all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
4:02 p.m.: express to Stamford then all stops between Bridgeport and New Haven.

In addition, a number of trains during the PM Peak period will not operate Friday or will be
combined.

There is regular weekend service on Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday, the Memorial Day holiday, Metro-North will operate on a Sunday schedule with
extra cars on inbound trains during the late afternoon and evening. In addition, three extra
inbound trains will operate between New Haven and New York, making select express stops.
These trains depart New Haven at 5:47 PM, 6:47 PM and 7:47 PM. Also, two extra express
trains to New Haven, making select express stops will depart Grand Central at 3:55 PM and 7:57 PM.

Grand Central North exits are closed on Monday.
