Don’t Miss the Norwalk Oyster Festival

 

The 36th Annual Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival promises to be the biggest and best ever. It’s three days of fun, September 6, 7 & 8, and easy to get to on Metro-North Railroad.

Festivities take place at Veteran’s Park on the lovely Norwalk Harbor.  In addition to the Oyster Pavilion -there’s something for everyone, including headline musical entertainment performing on three stages, a children’s activity area, amusement rides, arts and crafts booths, a food court, recreation and leisure demonstrations, harbor tours, environmental and maritime displays, and much more. 

Festival hours are: Friday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  For more information, call 203-838-9444 or visit www.seaport.org.

The package price from Grand Central Terminal/Harlem-125th Street: adults, $26.25; seniors, persons with disabilities and individuals receiving Medicare, $20.50; children 12, $21.25; children 5-11, $4.50; children under 5, free.

Package price varies from other stations.

Purchase a combination rail and festival admission ticket from any Metro-North ticket office or full-service ticket vending machine (excluding South Norwalk Station) or through WebTicket.

Take the New Haven Line to South Norwalk Station and connect with the free shuttle to the Festival.

Look for the yellow school bus with the sign that reads “Oyster Festival Shuttle.”  It will be waiting on the New Haven-bound side of the station.  On the return trip from the Festival, the shuttle will pick-up in the same location as the drop off.

Friday, September 6:  Shuttle bus service begins with the northbound train arriving South Norwalk Station at 5:20 p.m.  Service continues to meet trains throughout the evening until the last bus leaves the festival at 10:50 p.m. to meet the 11:18 p.m. southbound train departing South Norwalk Station.

Saturday, September 7:  Shuttle bus service begins with the northbound train arriving South Norwalk Station at 10:06 a.m.  Service continues to meet trains throughout the day until the last bus leaves the festival at 11:30 p.m. to meet the 12:21 a.m. southbound train departing South Norwalk Station.

Sunday, September 8:  Shuttle bus service begins with the northbound train arriving South Norwalk Station at 10:06 a.m.  Service continues to meet trains throughout the day until the last bus leaves the festival at 8:15 p.m. to meet the 8:39 p.m. southbound train departing South Norwalk Station.
