Track Work Set for the Waterbury Branch

For the next four weeks, Metro-North will be replacing wooden ties on the Waterbury branch of the New Haven Line. In order to install 8,000 new wooden rail ties on this single track line, substitute, off-peak bus service will be provided.

Beginning Monday, May 14, four off-peak trains will be bused, the 12:20 p.m. and 3:13 p.m. trains from Waterbury to Bridgeport, and the 10:32 a.m. and 1:32 p.m. trains from Bridgeport to Waterbury. About 140 customers will be affected each weekday.

On the weekends, the 11:22 a.m. and 3:18 p.m. Waterbury to Bridgeport trains and the 9:34 a.m. and 1:32 Bridgeport to Waterbury trains will be buses for 300 customers each day.

During this four-week, $700,000 project, the four daily buses will depart on train times. All other trains will operate.
