The Metropolitan Transportation Authority will hold a public hearing regarding federal funding proposals for capital projects for the remainder of 2001 and 2002 at MTA Headquarters Board Room, 5th floor, 347 Madison Avenue, between 44th and 45th Streets. Registration to speak closes at 6 p.m.
Capital projects eligible for federal assistance total $4 billion at MTA New York City Transit; $216 million at MTA Long Island Rail Road; $302 million at MTA Metro-North Railroad; $32.5 million at MTA Long Island Bus; and $150 for East Side Access. Projects include the purchase of subway cars and buses, station rehabilitation and infrastructure improvements.
