LIRR & NYC Transit Are Best Way To Get To Mumford and Sons Concert at Forest Hills Stadium This Wednesday
So Get in Tune with Mass Transit, Leave the Car at Home

MTA Long Island Rail Road and NYC Transit are the best ways to get to Forest Hills Stadium this Wednesday, August 28 to see the popular English folk-rock band Mumford and Sons in concert.

With the concert already a sellout and area parking limited, the LIRR is ramping up both eastbound and westbound service to Forest Hills Station, supplementing its regularly scheduled trains by adding trains that normally bypass the station. LIRR customers are reminded that only the first four cars of the train can platform at the Forest Hills Statio, so they should be sure to board one of the first four cars or they may not be able to exit the train in time.

Direct subway service is available to the Forest Hills-71st St. station via regularly scheduled E Subway Line IconF Subway Line IconM Subway Line IconR Subway Line Icon trains. Whether the LIRR or the subway is best for you, Forest Hills Stadium is just a short walk away. The Forest Hills Stadium area is also served by the Q23 bus.

Doors to the concert venue open at 5 PM with performances (The Vaccines and Bear’s Den are also on the bill) beginning at 6:15 PM and ending at 10 PM. The LIRR will make its added stops from 2:34 PM until 5:50 PM and again between 9:50 PM and 10:54 PM. The Forest Hills concert is Mumford and Sons’ only New York stop on a US-Canadian tour that runs through September 20 and it marks a comeback for Forest Hills Stadium as a major concert venue, In the 1960s the stadium, which has a capacity of 16,500, played host to Simon & Garfunkel, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and the Monkees, but has not offered musical acts since the late 1970s.
