MTA Police arrest three for burglary

The MTA Police announced today the arrest of three
Long Island residents charged with multiple burglaries in Nassau
and Suffolk Counties.

Lesly Pratt, 20, and Steven Atiles, 19, of Massapequa,
and Daniel Breslaw, 35, of North Amityville, were stopped by the
Amityville Police Department for a traffic violation and found
in possession of burglars' tools.

The suspects were apprehended following an extensive
investigation, led by the MTA Police and the Amityville, Nassau,
and Suffolk County Police Departments. The trio are believed responsible
for numerous burglaries over the past month, including those to
train station newsstands located in Amityville, Bellmore, Merrick,
and Hicksville.

Continuing investigation by all agencies involved
led to the search of Atiles' residence in Massapequa, where proceeds
from the burglaries were recovered. Total losses from the burglaries
are estimated at more that $25,000. The suspects are being held
at Nassau County Jail where they await arraignment.
