The Metropolitan Transportation Authority will hold a public hearing regarding federal funding proposals for capital projects for the remainder of 1998 and 1999.
The hearing is scheduled for June 3, 4:30 p.m., 347 Madison Avenue, 5th floor Board Room. Registration is from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Capital projects eligible for federal assistance total $1.8 billion at MTA New York City Transit; $427 million at MTA Long Island Rail Road; $129 million at MTA Metro-North Railroad; and $39.5 million at MTA Long Island Bus. Projects include the purchase of subway cars and buses, station rehabilitation and infrastructure improvements.
