Access-A-Ride Job Action Over Two-Day Reservations to Begin Tomorrow

A settlement has been reached in the job action between the drivers for four of our 14 service providers. A vote to ratify the contract was held today (Wednesday, December 19th) and the striking members of ATU Local 1181 voted to accept the contract offer. Beginning tomorrow (Thursday, December 20th) reservations will be taken one-to-two days in advance and customers may book trips with a guest. We apologize for any inconvenience our Access-A-Ride customers may have experienced during this job action.

The preliminary estimate for tomorrow's service is 15,041 trips. This represents 80% of the service scheduled for a normal Thursday. The Access-A-Ride Reservation Center was able to address virtually all of the calls received today, including the issuance of 1,267 taxi authorizations and 712 vouchers for car service rides.
