During our previous FASTRACK on the Grand Concourse in July, maintenance workers completed many tasks in the areas of track, third rail operations, signals, infrastructure, electronics maintenance, station environment and elevator/escalator maintenance.  They cleared 490 third rail defects, scraped and cleaned 11,000 feet of track under and around the third rail, cleaned 1,150 feet of track drain, repaired 35 feet of damaged concrete and sealed 70 leaks.  At the stations, workers were able to paint 4,950 square feet of station surface area, repair 180 linear feet of rubbing board and replace 65 station platform signs.  This represents only a portion of what Transit workers were able to accomplish under the FASTRACK program.

These FASTRACK efforts have been designed around the careful determination that there is adequate alternate means of transportation, including enhanced services along some bus lines during work periods.  Alternative transportation options will be detailed in announcements and posters on trains, in stations and on selected buses; brochures will be available in both English and Spanish.  Information on this FASTRACK is available by clicking here

There will be three more FASTRACK closures in 2013.  The next will be in Upper Manhattan, November 18-22, on the A Subway Line Icon Line between Inwood-207th Street and 168th Street.  There will be a weekend FASTRACK on the D Subway Line Icon and N Subway Line Icon lines on November 23 and 24 between Stillwell Avenue and Bay Parkway D Subway Line Icon and the 86th Street N Subway Line Icon stations.  The final weeknight 2013 FASTRACK will be on the F Subway Line Icon line between West 4th Street and Jay Street Metro-Tech from December 2 to 6.
