The Subway is The Best Way to Giants Tickertape Parade

Buses Rerouted Through Lower Manhattan

Tens of thousands of New York Giants fans will line the Canyon of Heroes to salute the Super Bowl XLII Champions as they ride north on Broadway from Battery Place to Chambers Street on Tuesday, February 5.  While the subway remains the best way to get to a spot along the parade route, bus riders should expect street closures to cause delays and reroutes in and around the Lower Manhattan area during the morning and early afternoon.

Subway riders coming to the parade are urged to avoid using the Lexington Avenue 4, 5 and 6 lines.  Instead, fans should use the 1 line or the R or W lines to Rector Street, or the E to World Trade Center.  Fans should also consider taking the AC 2 or 3 lines to Chambers Street or 23 to Park Place or Wall Street, and the J to the Broad Street station.

Crowding conditions at the City Hall R and W station, and nearby 456 Brooklyn Bridge – City Hall station may force trains to bypass those stations during the parade and ceremony at City Hall.   All lines affected will be monitored by supervision to ensure smooth operation.

The following detours are expected to be in place by 9:00 a.m. affecting NYC Transit bus routes that serve Lower Manhattan (but detours may start as early as 7 a.m.):
