Buses Replace Trains between Jamaica and Hempstead for Track Work late Fri., Oct. 25, to early Mon., Oct. 28
Bus and van service will replace trains between Jamaica and Hempstead from 11:30PM Friday, October 25, until 4:30 AM on Monday, October 28 as trackwork is performed on switches in the vicinity of Queens Village affecting Hempstead Branch service. Customers should allow for up to 33 minutes additional travel time.
Customers traveling west will board buses up to 32 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled trains at Hempstead, Garden City, Nassau Boulevard, Stewart Manor, Floral Park, Bellerose, Queens Village and Hollis for travel to Jamaica, where trains service resumes for points west.
Customers traveling east will take the train as far as Jamaica where they will board buses for stations Hollis through Hempstead, arriving up to 33 minutes later than normal depending on their destination.
Country Life Press Customers:
Customers traveling to/from Country Life Press will board a local van at Jamaica for eastbound service, arriving 49 minutes later than normal, or at Country Life Press for westbound service, departing 50 minutes earlier than normal.
