Marine Parkway Bridge Closed to All Traffic: Friday, June 16: 2 AM to 4 AM

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions from 2 a.m. till 4 a.m. on Friday, June 16. All traffic will be detoured to the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The closure is required to finalize the testing for all mechanical and electrical systems of the lift span.

Signs will be in place advising motorists in advance of the closure and detour coming off the bridge.

Hugh L Carey Tunnel Brooklyn Plaza Roadway Restoration Work Zone Shift

Starting Thursday, June 15, 2017, there will be a shift in the work zone for the roadway restoration work of the old Brooklyn toll plaza at the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. The work zone will shift from the center lanes to the east side of the plaza and will require full closures of individual tunnel approach lanes. This work will conclude on July 8th.

Governor Cuomo Orders Acceleration of Construction on Bridges and Tunnels in Anticipation of Added Traffic Due to Amtrak Emergency Repair Work

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has ordered an acceleration of the construction on MTA bridges and tunnels to mitigate the effects of additional vehicles on the road caused by Amtrak's emergency repair work this summer. This aggressive schedule ensures major construction projects will be completed by July 8 to reduce vehicular congestion during Amtrak's extended period of widespread reduced service. Governor Cuomo's order will mean that all major commuting crossings will be cashless and all lanes will be open during the daytime.

Governor Cuomo Announces Robert F. Kennedy Bridge to Begin Cashless Tolling June 15

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced cashless tolling will begin on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge on June 15. Implementing cashless tolling on the RFK Bridge will reduce congestion and improve travel for motorists in time for the summer travel season. As part of the transition to a more convenient and cost effective way to travel New York’s crossings, the Governor is encouraging all commuters to sign up for an E-ZPass and save on tolls across the state, including 30 to 50 percent at all MTA bridges and tunnels in New York City.

Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Staten Island-bound Lower Level Closure for Annual Five Boro Bike Tour

The Staten Island-bound lower level of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed from 12:01 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, May 7 for the annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour. The upper level of the bridge will remain open in both directions throughout the event.
