Metro-North Crews Continue Post-Storm Repairs to Harlem Line

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8, and continuing over the next three consecutive weekends, crews will return to the Harlem Line to strengthen the railroad’s infrastructure following the series of powerful nor’easters that hit the region in March. Crews will restore and reinforce power poles and wires, enhancing the Harlem Line’s resiliency.

Critical Improvements to Devon Bridge and Waterbury Branch Underway During Weekends From April 7-8 Through May 19-20

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that crews from both the railroad and the Connecticut Department of Transportation will be out in force making improvements to the Waterbury Branch over the next seven consecutive weekends, starting April 7-8 and concluding May 19-20.

Metro-North Continues Comprehensive Improvements to Port Jervis Line Beginning Monday, April 9, and Continuing Through Friday, May 4

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that crews will be out in force making comprehensive improvements to the Port Jervis Line beginning Monday, April 9, and continuing through Friday, May 4.

During this period, Metro-North crews will undertake an important rock slope remediation project, inspecting and reinforcing the rock slopes adjacent to the tracks between Port Jervis and Ramsey Route 17 to ensure that they’re free of any loose rocks and brush that could fall on to the tracks and cause delays.

MTA Metro-North Railroad Announces Renewal Project to Bring State of the Art Improvements to White Plains Station

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that a full-scale renewal project that will bring state of the art improvements to the White Plains station is underway.  

The project will give Metro-North customers a reimagined station, one that’s more accessible to all, safer, easier to navigate, and technologically up-to-date.  The White Plains station has the third highest ridership in the Metro-North system, second only to Stamford and Grand Central Terminal.

Metro-North Crews Continue Repairs to Upper Harlem Line Power Poles Damaged During Nor’Easters

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that this Sunday, March 18, Metro-North crews will out in force on the Upper Harlem Line making repairs to power poles and wires that were damaged by powerful nor’easters on March 2 and March 7.

To accommodate work essential to maintaining the railroad’s safety and service reliability, this Sunday, March 18, from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., substitute bus service will be in effect between Southeast, Brewster and Goldens Bridge Stations.

The affected stations are Goldens Bridge, Purdy’s, Croton Falls, Brewster and Southeast.

REMINDER: New Metro-North Schedules Take Effect on Sunday, March 18 to Accommodate White Plains Station Enhancement Project and Track Improvements

Metro-North Railroad reminds customers that changes to Harlem Line schedules, minor changes to Hudson Line schedules, and minor changes to New Haven Line schedules take effect this Sunday, March 18.   

The new schedules allow Metro-North to begin an extensive three-year project to transform the White Plains station, making it safer, brighter, cleaner and easier to navigate.

Metro-North Crews Make Improvements to New Canaan Branch Saturday Night, March 17

MTA Metro-North Railroad announced today that Metro-North crews will upgrade a switch on the New Canaan Branch this Saturday night, March 17.

The switch upgrade will help keep the New Canaan Branch running reliably and safely. To accommodate this work, substitute busing will be provided between New Canaan and Stamford stations after 10: 50 p.m. Regular train service resumes on Sunday with the 6:28 a.m. train from New Canaan and the 6:53 a.m. train from Stamford.

Substitute Bus Service in Effect at All Stations Between Southeast and Goldens Bridge Until Further Notice

Limited substitute bus service is in effect at all stations between Southeast and Goldens Bridge until further notice due to multiple downed power poles in the area.

Train service between Grand Central Terminal and Goldens Bridge and train service between Southeast and Wassaic is still operating.

Customers traveling to Grand Central are encouraged to drive to Goldens Bridge, Katonah or North White Plains where there is free parking and direct train service. Customers can also use the Hudson Line and tickets will be cross-honored.
