MTA Announces OMNY Now Activated at all Bronx Subway Stations

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that the OMNY contactless fare payment system has been activated at all subways stations in the Bronx, following reader activations at Grand Concourse stations last week. More than 60% of all subway stations are now equipped with OMNY, with 2,820 OMNY readers systemwide.

MTA Completes Accessibility Improvements at Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway Station

MTA New York City Transit officials today announced the completion of the final phase of a three-part, year-long project to enhance accessibility and improve the station environment at the Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway l subway station in Brooklyn. The third and final phase of the work, which was conducted almost entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic, brought a new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramp in addition to new lighting and signage, an upgraded PA system and other amenities

MTA Deploys PPE Vending Machines Across Subway System

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that the agency is deploying a dozen vending machines at 10 subway stations allowing customers to buy Covid-19 personal protective equipment (PPE). The new machines, part of a pilot program will offer reusable face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes.
