MTA Weekender: April 10-13, 2026

There are service changes on the subway and LIRR this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.

Happy Friday! Despite what this week's weather would have you believe, it's still spring, which means it's cherry blossom season. Get outside this weekend to check out spectacularly colored blooms at parks across the city—and wherever you end up, we hope you take public transit to get there. 

If you're traveling to JFK airport  this weekend, note that  ​ trains aren't running to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport. Take the   to Howard Beach-JFK Airport or the  ​ to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •   trains aren't running between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Brooklyn.
  •   trains aren't running between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green.
  •   trains aren't running between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway-Mott Av. 
  •   trains aren't running.
  •   trains are running on the   to/from Euclid Av.
  •   trains are replacing   service to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
  •   trains aren't running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St.
  •   trains aren't running between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
  •   Rockaway Park Shuttle isn't running.

Major subway service changes

    trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan 

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Crown Hts-Utica Av or New Lots Av.
    •   trains are running local between 125 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall.
  •   trains aren't running between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green.
    •   trains are running between Eastchester-Dyre Av and Grand Central-42 St, during the day and evening, every 12 minutes.
    • On Sunday morning,   trains aren't running between E 180 St and Bowling Green until 10 a.m.
  •   trains are running every 8 minutes during the day and evening.

This is because of track replacement. 

  • For service between Grand Central-42 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, take the  .
  • For service to/from Fulton St, Wall St, and Bowling Green, take nearby   or   trains.
  • For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take     trains.
  • For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College, take    trains.
  • For service between Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College and New Lots Av, take the  , which is running to/from New Lots Av all weekend, including overnight. 

   trains, Queens

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway-Mott Av.
    •   trains are running between Inwood-207 St and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd or Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St.
  •   Rockaway Park Shuttle isn't running.

This is because of structural maintenance.

  • For service between Beach 67 St and Far Rockaway-Mott Av, take free T354 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations and Beach 90 St making all   stops.
  • For service between Broad Channel and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St, take the  .

    trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running.
  • Brooklyn-bound   trains are running from Jamaica-179 St to W 4 St-Wash Sq, then on the   to Euclid Av.
  • Jamaica-bound   trains are running on the   from Euclid Av to Jay St-MetroTech, then to Jamaica-179 St.
  •   trains are running between Court Sq and Church Av, and replacing   service to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

This is because of electrical work.

  • For local service between 168 St and Jay St-MetroTech, take the  , which is running local between 168 St and Canal St all weekend.
  • For Brooklyn-bound service to/from:
    • Broadway-Lafayette St, take the  .
    • 2 Av and East Broadway, take a Jamaica-bound   train.
    • Delancey St-Essex St, take the  .
    • York St, use nearby High St  .
  • For service between Jay St-MetroTech and Euclid Av, take the  .
  • For service between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take the  .
  • For direct service between Manhattan, Downtown Brooklyn, and Coney Island, take    trains.

  trains, Brooklyn and Queens

  trains aren't running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • For service between 121 St and Crescent St, free J90 shuttle buses are running between Jamaica Van-Wyck   and Crescent St, making all   stops between 121 St and Crescent St.
    • When exiting the subway at Jamaica-Van Wyck or Crescent St, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • For service to/from Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport, take the  .
  • For service to JFK Airport , take the   to Howard Beach-JFK Airport or the  ​ to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport.
  •   trains are running between Crescent St and Broad St.

  trains, Brooklyn

  trains aren't running between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • For service between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take free T464 shuttle buses, which are running along two routes:
    • Local, making all stops between Prospect Park and Kings Hwy.
    • Nonstop between Prospect Park and Kings Hwy and making all local stops to/from Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
  • When exiting the subway at Prospect Park, W 8 St-NY Aquarium, or Coney Island-Stillwell Av, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • For direct service between Manhattan, Downtown Brooklyn, and Coney Island, take    trains.
  •   trains are running between 96 St and Prospect Park.

Other subway service changes

  trains, the Bronx

Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Hunts Point Av to 3 Av-138 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.
  • At 3 Av-138 St, all trains are boarding from the Pelham Bay Park-bound platform.

  trains, the Bronx

Manhattan-bound   trains aren't stopping at 182-183 Sts from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from this station, take a Norwood-bound train.

  trains, Queens

Astoria-bound   trains are running nonstop from Queensboro Plaza to Astoria Blvd from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

    trains, Manhattan

Downtown     trains are running express from 34 St-Herald Sq to Canal St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown local train.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

City Terminal Zone

From 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday, eastbound trains aren't stopping at Forest Hills or Kew Gardens and eastbound trains toward Jamaica aren't stopping at Woodside. This is because of accessibility work.

  • Eastbound trains are running nonstop from Manhattan to Jamaica. Port Washington Branch trains are still stopping at Woodside.
  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take the subway.
    • Show your LIRR ticket to enter the subway at no additional cost at 34 St-Penn Station  , Grand Central-42 St  , Woodside-61 St  , Forest Hills-71 Av  , and Kew Gardens-Union Tpke  .
