MTA Weekender: July 11-14, 2025

There are service changes on the subway and LIRR this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.

Happy Friday and welcome to the second weekend in July! Whether you're celebrating Bastille Day with a festival or concert, enjoying arts and culture at West Side Fest, welcoming the city's newest residents at Goatham, or getting out of town for the weekend, public transit is your ticket to weekend fun.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •    trains aren't running between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse and are running in two sections.
  • World Trade Center-bound   trains are running on the   from 21 St-Queensbridge to W 4 St-Washington Sq.
  •   trains aren't running between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction.
  • 96 St-bound   trains are running on the   from DeKalb Av to Canal St.
  • Forest Hills-bound   trains are running on the   from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Canal St, skipping DeKalb Av.
  •   Staten Island Railway trains aren't running between Huguenot and Tottenville.

Major subway service changes

   trains, the Bronx

   trains aren't running between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • For service between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse, take free shuttle buses, which are running along two routes:
    • Local, making all    stops between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse.
    • Nonstop between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse
  • When exiting the subway at E 180 St, 3 Av-149 St, or 149 St-Grand Concourse, get a GO Ticket from a station agent for re-entry.
  •   trains are running in two sections, every 12 minutes during the day and evening:
    • Between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St.
    • Between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College.
  •   trains are running in two sections:
    • Between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St, every 12 minutes all weekend.
    • Between Bowling Green and 149 St-Grand Concourse and on the   to/from Burnside Av during the day and evening, every 20 minutes.
      • Burnside Av-bound trains aren't stopping at 138 St-Grand Concourse or from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Burnside Av. For service to/from bypassed stations, take the   .

     trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  • 96 St-bound   trains are running on the   from DeKalb Av to Canal St to provide alternate service while   trains aren't able to access the track between these stations.
  • Manhattan-bound   and   local trains are running express from 36 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and on the    to Canal St, skipping DeKalb Av.
  • Manhattan-bound   local trains are running express from 36 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and are skipping DeKalb Av.
  • During late nights,  trains aren't running between Whitehall St-South Ferry and 59 St in either direction.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from stations between 36 St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take a Bay Ridge-bound   or Coney Island-bound    local train.
  • For service to/from stations between DeKalb Av and Canal St, take a 96 St-bound  .
  • During late nights:
    • For service to/from stations between Whitehall St-South Ferry and DeKalb Av, take a 96 St-bound  .
    • For service to/from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and 36 St, take    trains.
    • For service to/from local stations between Union St and 25 St, take a Coney Island-bound    local train.
    • For service to/from 45 St and 53 St, take the  .
  • At Canal St, uptown   trains are stopping at the   platform and uptown   and   local trains are stopping at the   platform.

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

World Trade Center-bound   trains are running on the   from 21 St-Queensbridge to W 4 St-Washington Sq from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from Queens Plaza, take the   or use nearby Queensboro Plaza   .
  • For service to/from Court Sq-23 St, take the  .
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/53 St, use nearby Lexington Av/59 St   .
  • For service to/from 5 Av/53 St, use nearby 57 St    or 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr    .
  • For service to/from 7 Av, take the  .
  • For service to/from 50 St and 23 St, take   or   local trains.
  • For service to/from 42 St-Port Authority, 34 St-Penn Station, and 14 St, take    trains.

  trains, Brooklyn

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,   trains aren't running between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction and are running in two sections:

  • Between 8 Av and Lorimer St, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.
  • Between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.
    • At Broadway Junction, all   trains are boarding from the   platform.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction, take free shuttle buses, which are running on two routes:
    • Between Lorimer St and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs, making all   stops.
    • Between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Broadway Junction, making all   stops.
  • For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider taking      trains.

  Staten Island Railway

Staten Island Railway trains aren't running between Huguenot and Tottenville in either diection from 1:15 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday because of maintenance.

  • For service between Huguenot and Tottenville, take free shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all stops.

Other subway service changes

  trains, the Bronx and Manhattan

South Ferry-bound   trains are running nonstop from 242 St to Dyckman St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.

Downtown   trains aren't stopping at 145 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday because of station work.

  • For service to/from this station, take an uptown train or use nearby 145 St    .

Uptown   trains aren't stopping at 145 St from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station work.

  • For service to/from this station, take a downtown train or use nearby 145 St    .

  trains, the Bronx

Woodlawn-bound   trains aren't stopping at 138 St-Grand Concourse from 9:45 p.m. p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from this station, take a Manhattan-bound train.

  trains, Queens

Flushing-bound   trains are running express from 74 St-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday because of station work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
  • At Junction Blvd, all trains are stopping at the Manhattan-bound platform.
  •   trains are running every 8 minutes during the day and evening.

    trains, Manhattan

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  • Uptown   and   local trains are running express from Canal St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.
  • Uptown   trains are running express from Canal St to 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from Spring St and 23 St, take a downtown local train.
  • For service to/from 50 St, take the  .

Downtown   and   local trains are running nonstop from 125 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.

  trains, the Bronx

Manhattan-bound   trains aren't stopping at 182-183 Sts from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility work.

  • For service to/from this station, take a Norwood-bound train.

  trains, Brooklyn

Manhattan-bound   trains are running express from Bay Pkwy to 9 Av, stopping only at 62 St, from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of structural work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Coney Island-bound train.

   trains, Brooklyn

Coney Island-bound   and Church Av-bound   trains are running express from Smith-9 Sts to Church Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of signal modernization.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound   or Court Sq-bound  .

  trains, Queens

Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Astoria Blvd to Queensboro Plaza from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take an Astoria-bound train.

  trains, Brooklyn

Coney Island-bound   trains are running express from Prospect Park to Sheepshead Bay from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5.am. Monday because of electrical work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

City Terminal Zone

From 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, westbound trains aren't stopping at Forest Hills or Kew Gardens and westbound trains from Jamaica aren't stopping at Woodside. This is because of accessibility work.

  • Westbound trains are running nonstop from Jamaica to Manhattan. Port Washington Branch trains are still stopping at Woodside.
  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take the subway.
    • Show your LIRR ticket to enter the subway at no additional cost at Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport   , Kew Gardens-Union Tpke   , Forest Hills-71 Av    , or Woodside-61 St  .
