Happy Friday, and a hearty hello to the arrival of sweater weather! A nor'easter is expected to hit our area this weekend, so you may need more than a cozy sweater if you're planning to be out and about. Whatever you do this weekend—whether that's leaf-peeping, apple-picking, or Halloween pre-gaming—we hope you use public transit to get there.
On Monday, Columbus Day, the subway, LIRR, and Metro-North are running on a regular weekday schedule. Buses are running on a reduced weekday schedule.
Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

- trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
- trains aren't running between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy.

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday:
- During the day and evening, trains aren't running between Harlem-148 St and 96 St in either direction.
- trains are running between New Lots Av and 96 St and on the to/from 137 St-City College.
- Overnight, trains aren't running at all.
This is because of station maintenance.
- For service to/from Harlem-148 St and 145 St, take free shuttle buses, which connect these stations and 135 St.
- For service between 135 St and 96 St, take the .
trains, Manhattan
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:
- trains aren't running between Inwood-207 St and 168 St in either direction.
- trains are running between 168 St and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd or Far Rockaway-Mott Av.
- trains aren't running between 168 St and 145 St in either direction.
- trains are running between 145 St and Euclid Av. At 145 St, trains are stopping at the lower level platform.
This is because of track replacement.
- For service between Inwood-207 St and 168 St, use nearby stops or take free shuttle buses, which are running along two routes:
- On Broadway between Inwood-207 St and 168 St.
- On Fort Washington Av between 190 St and 168 St.
- For local service between 168 St and 145 St, take the , which is running local between these stations from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
trains, Manhattan
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:
- Downtown trains are running on the after 5 Av/53 St to 2 Av.
- Uptown trains are running on the from 2 Av to W 4 St-Wash Sq.
- Downtown and local trains are running express from 59 St-Columbus Circle to Canal St.
This is because of signal modernization.
- For service to/from 7 Av, take the .
- For service to/from 50 St, 23 St, or Spring St, take an uptown or local train.
- For service to/from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, 34 St-Penn Station, 14 St, Canal St, and World Trade Center (Chambers St), take trains.
trains, Brooklyn
trains aren't running between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in either direction from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility work.
- For service between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av, take free B90 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all stops.
- For direct service between Manhattan or Downtown Brooklyn and Coney Island, take trains.
- For service to/from W 8 St-NY Aquarium, take the .
- trains are running between Jamaica-179 St and Church Av.
trains, Brooklyn and Queens
trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs in either direction from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of signal modernization.
- For service between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, take free B98 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all stops.
- When exiting the subway at Court Sq, Lorimer St (Metropolitan Av), or Bedford-Nostrand Avs, get a GO Ticket from a station agent for re-entry.
- trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.
trains, Brooklyn
trains aren't running between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy in either direction from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.
- For service between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy, take free T426 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations along two routes:
- Local, making all stops.
- Nonstop.
- When exiting the subway at Broadway Junction or Junius St (Livonia Av), get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
- trains are running between 8 Av and Broadway Junction, approximately every 8 minutes during the day and evening and 12 minutes overnight.
Other subway service changes
trains, Brooklyn
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound and local trains are running nonstop from Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr because of track replacement.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Flatbush Av-bound or New Lots Av-bound or local train.
- and trains are running every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
trains, the Bronx
Manhattan-bound trains are running nonstop from E 180 St to 3 Av-149 St because of structural maintenance.
- For service to from bypassed stations, take a Wakefield-bound or Eastchester-bound train.
trains, Manhattan
Uptown and local trains are running express from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to 125 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural and track maintenance.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a downtown local train.
- trains are running between Pelham Bay Park and Bowling Green, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.
trains, the Bronx
Manhattan-bound trains are running from Hunts Point Av to 3 Av-138 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.
- At 3 Av-138 St, all trains are boarding from the Pelham Bay Park-bound platform.
trains, Brooklyn
Manhattan-bound trains are running nonstop from Broadway Junction to Myrtle Av from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of structural maintenance.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Jamaica Center-bound train.
Long Island Rail Road
Port Washington Branch
Trains aren't running between Great Neck and Port Washington from 1 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.
- For service between Great Neck and Port Washington, take shuttle buses.
- Buses aren't stopping at Plandome because of low bridges in the area. Use the bus stop at nearby Manhasset instead.
- Use Schedules or TrainTime to plan your trip.
Metro-North Railroad
Waterbury Branch
Trains aren't running between Bridgeport and Waterbury from 6 a.m to 2:30 p.m. Saturday while we clear debris from the tracks near Beacon Falls.
- For service between Bridgeport and Waterbury, take shuttle buses.
