Why we're doing it

We're replacing tracks north of Chambers St, a key area for service on the    and   lines. This work includes replacing pieces of track called switches that move trains between the local and express tracks.

We're also using these suspensions of service to get other work done, including structural maintenance, inspections, and electrical and mechanical work. This will allow us to avoid shutting down service to do that work in the future.
