This year, it's easier—and cheaper—to take Long Island Rail Road to Mets games than ever.
Through the new "Take the Train to the Game" promotion, attendees of Mets home games can receive $5 off of certain Long Island Rail Road tickets, good for use on the day of the game. The discount can be used for day passes or CityTickets to Mets-Willets Point that are purchased in the TrainTime app.
How it works
When purchasing a ticket for a Mets home game, add the "Take the Train to the Game" promotion at checkout, or select a game from the special LIRR fare promotion page. On the day of the game, you will receive an email with a link to the TrainTime app. Follow that link and purchase a day pass or CityTicket to Mets-Willets Point as usual; the discount code will be automatically applied in your cart.
If you don't have the TrainTime app, or do not have the most up to date version, you will be prompted to download the app.
Terms and conditions
The discount code is good for use on up to eight adult day passes or CityTicket passes. Other LIRR ticket types (child, family, one-way) are not eligible. The discount cannot be used to purchase paper LIRR tickets.
LIRR tickets must be purchased and used on the day of the game. The discount code expires at the end of the game day, but any LIRR ticket purchased with the code remains valid for unlimited travel from the user's home station to Mets-Willets Point, and any other station within that ticketed zone, until 4 a.m. the following day.
