Welcome to the MTA Policy Brief, a new resource for insights into the policies shaping transportation in New York. Here, we’ll break down complex issues, explain the rationale behind key initiatives, and shed light on the data guiding decision-making.
The MTA’s Policy shop is responsible for developing and implementing policy recommendations, coordinating cross-agency initiatives, and communicating decision-making to external stakeholders. Topics will cover a wide range of policy areas including budget and fares, service improvements, regional rail coordination, climate, transparency, and more. We will share insights into what we have been working on and explain how we’re tackling the complex challenges facing transportation today. The Policy team will author these posts, with regular contributions from in-house subject matter experts who work on these issues every day.
Whether you’re a decision-maker, advocate, rider, or fellow policymaker, we’re excited for you to follow along and learn more from the MTA Policy team!
