On January 2, 2026, the New York State Department of Transportation will introduce more frequent, simpler bus service between Newburgh and Beacon, connecting to Metro-North trains at Beacon Station.

The new Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Shuttle will run along two routes:

  • Express, connecting Stewart Airport and Route 17K Park and Ride to Beacon.
  • Local, also offering service to five stops in Downtown Newburgh.

Compared to the existing Newburgh-Beacon Shuttle, the new shuttle's expanded schedule will over more than 50% more trips each day and will connect with more than twice as many Metro-North trains.

In addition, the new service will offer complimentary rides to all riders throughout 2026.

The new Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Shuttle will also build upon and replace the Newburgh-Beacon Ferry Rail Link substitute bus service, which will be discontinued on December 31, 2025.
