TONY BOKA

Guitarist, composer, and music producer Tony Boka started playing guitar at the age of ten and began his professional career at age fifteen. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he has been a member of many Brazilian bands. From 1996 to 2002, Tony toured Brazil as a musician with the famous Brazilian pop singer, Vinny.
One of the high points in his career was performing at the Rock in Rio 3 Festival. Tony developed a passionate interest in jazz music while performing for years in nightclubs on Copacabana Beach, the birthplace of Bossa Nova.
He studied at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music and with several masters of jazz in Rio de Janeiro, including Alexandre Carvalho and Victor Biglione.
Tony Boka recorded his first solo album Ultra in 2007. Since moving to the United States in 2016, he has produced forty-five original songs for the Wok Pop Jazz Project.
