MTA to Perform Track and Switch Maintenance Work on E and F Lines in Queens the Weekend of May 31

Free Shuttle Bus Service Will Operate Between Kew Gardens Union Turnpike and Jamaica Center to Accommodate Air Travelers Heading to JFK

 

LIRR Will Cross Honor New York City Transit Fares Between Jamaica Center and Penn Station/Grand Central Madison

 

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced track and signal maintenance work on the Queens Boulevard Line will begin at midnight on Saturday, May 31, and last until 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 2. During this time,   trains will operate on the  line east of Jamaica-Van Wyck. 

As a result of the work,   train service will be rerouted to the   line to 179th Street from midnight on Saturday, May 31, through 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 2. There will be no  train service at Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer, Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport, or Jamaica-Van Wyck.

Manhattan-bound   trains will operate express from Parsons Blvd to Kew Gardens Union Turnpike.   trains will run local. 

Free shuttle bus service will operate between Jamaica Center and Kew Gardens Union Turnpike to accommodate travelers headed to JFK Airport. 

The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will also cross honor MetroCard and OMNY between Jamaica, Kew Gardens, Forest Hills, Woodside, Grand Central Madison, and Penn Station in both directions.

TrainTime app – The MTA’s TrainTime app is the essential companion to navigating the commuter rail system. Customers can plan their trip, purchase tickets, check train status, and chat with customer service, all in one app. The app is available in the Apple Store and in Google Play. 

Email & Text Alerts – Customers can sign up for email and SMS alerts tailored to their specific commutes and travel times. They can also sign up for MTA newsletters like The Weekender, a weekly newsletter that covers major weekend planned service changes. Customers can sign up here.  

511 – Customers who prefer to contact the MTA by telephone, information is available by dialing 511. Those who are deaf or hard of hearing can use their preferred service provider for the free 711 relay to reach the MTA at 511.
