Weather Update: MTA Bridges and Tunnels Potential Vehicular & Shared Use Path Bans Due to High Winds

MTA Bridges and Tunnels today announced that due to ongoing high wind conditions, the agency will be implementing the prohibition of certain vehicles from using MTA Bridges and Tunnels crossings as weather develops.

 

Current restrictions are:

 

  • Cross Bay Bridge – ban on empty tractor trailers and tandem trucks, shared use path closed

  • Marine Parkway Bridge – ban on empty tractor trailers and tandem trucks, shared use path closed

  • Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge - ban on all tractor trailers and tandem trucks, cars pulling trailers, house trailers, minibuses, motorcycles, any other vehicle deemed a potential safety hazard

  • Throgs Neck Bridge - ban on empty tractor trailers and tandem trucks
