Many buses in Jamaica moved on June 1

The 165 St/Jamaica Bus Terminal has moved to a new location on 168 St.

What we’re doing

On June 1, the 165 St/Jamaica Bus Terminal closed and was replaced by the new 168 St Interim Bus Terminal a short distance away at 168 St and 90 Av. The new terminal serves the same MTA and NICE bus routes as the old terminal. It’s also close to 169 St Station on the   train.

Map showing the location of the current 165 St Bus Terminal, which closes on June 1, and the new 168 St Bus Terminal, which opens on June 1. The new terminal is a 4 minute walk east on 90 Av from the old one, and a 5 minute walk south on 168 St from the 169 St F subway station.

Why we’re doing it

The site of the old terminal is being redeveloped, so buses needed to move to a new location during construction at the site of the former terminal.

The new terminal is just a four-minute walk from the old one. Its design will improve the flow of buses and passengers compared to the old terminal, meaning better service for everyone.

Once the construction at the site of the current terminal is complete, buses will move back to a new terminal on the old site.
