MTA Weekender: April 3-6, 2026

There are service changes on the subway and LIRR this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.

Here's what's happening on the subway this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •    trains aren't running between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse and are running in two sections.
  •   trains aren't running between Rockaway Blvd and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd.
  •    trains are running on the   between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Jay St-MetroTech.
  •   trains aren't running between Queensboro Plaza and Times Sq-42 St, and are running in two sections.
  •   trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island between 36 St and 57 St-7 Av.

Major subway service changes

   trains, the Bronx

   trains aren't running between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

  •   trains are running in two sections:
    • Between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
    • Between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
  •   trains are running in two sections:
    • Between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St all weekend, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
    • Between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Bowling Green during the day and evening, every 20 minutes.
      • 149 St-bound trains aren't stopping at 138 St-Grand Concourse. For service to/from this station, take the   .

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse, take free shuttle buses, which are running along two routes:
    • Local, making all    stops between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse.
    • Nonstop between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse.
  • When exiting the subway at E 180 St, 3 Av-149 St, or 149 St-Grand Concourse, get a GO Ticket from a station agent for re-entry.
  • Metro-North is accommodating subway riders at no additional cost for travel between the Bronx and Manhattan at stations between Wakefield and Grand Central on the Harlem and New Haven lines.

  trains, Queens

From 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday:

  •   trains aren't running between Rockaway Blvd and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd.
    •   trains to/from Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd are rerouted to/from Howard Beach-JFK Airport.
    • Manhattan-bound   trains aren't stopping at Rockaway Blvd or 88 St.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from 88 St, Rockaway Blvd, 104 St, 111 St, or Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd, take free shuttle buses, which are running between 80 St and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd making all   stops.

   trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

   trains are running on the   in both directions between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Jay St-MetroTech from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from Spring St, Canal St, and Chambers St (World Trade Center), take the  .
  • For service to/from Fulton St, take the  , or use nearby World Trade Center  .
  • For service to/from High St, use nearby York St  .

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

  trains aren't running between Queensboro Plaza and Times Sq-42 St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, and are running in two sections:

  • Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza.
  • Between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Times Sq-42 St.

This is because of track replacement. 

  • For service between Queens and Manhattan, take the  .
  • For service to/from 49 St and 57 St-7 Av, take    trains.
    •   trains are running local in both directions.
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St and 5 Av/59 St, use nearby 59 St    .
  • At Queensboro Plaza, all   trains are stopping at the Manhattan-bound platform.

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

  trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island between 36 St and 57 St-7 Av in both directions all day Saturday and Sunday because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from Queens Plaza, take the  .
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St and 5 Av/59 St, use nearby 59 St    .

Other subway service changes

  trains, the Bronx

Woodlawn-bound   trains are running nonstop from 167 St to Burnside Av from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station work. 

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
  • At Burnside Av, all trains are boarding from the Manhattan-bound platform.

  trains, the Bronx

Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Hunts Point Av to 3 Av-138 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.
  • At 3 Av-138 St, all trains are boarding from the Pelham Bay Park-bound platform.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

Far Rockaway Branch

Trains aren't running between Valley Stream and Far Rockaway from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday because of switch maintenance.

  • For service between Valley Stream and Far Rockaway, take shuttle buses, which are making all stops between these stations.
  • Use Schedules or TrainTime to plan your trip.
