MTA Weekender: July 17-20, 2026

There are service changes on the subway this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.

Happy Friday, readers! It's the final weekend of the World Cup, and NYNJ Stadium is hosting the final match on Sunday. If you're headed to the match or the final watch party in Central Park, check out our World Cup travel guide for more information to help plan your trip. 

If you're traveling to JFK airport  this weekend, note that  ​ trains are running in two sections this weekend. For a direct trip, take the  ​ to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport or the  ​ to Howard Beach-JFK Airport.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •    trains aren't running between Junius St and New Lots Av.
  •   trains aren't running between Inwood-207 St and 168 St.
  •   trains aren't running between Rockaway Blvd and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd.
  •   trains aren't running between 168 St and 145 St. 
  • Manhattan-bound   trains are running on the   from Coney Island-Stillwell Av to 36 St.
  •   trains aren't running between Broadway Junction and Marcy Av. 
  •   trains aren't running at all. 
  • On Sunday morning, Queens-bound   trains are running on the   from 57 St-7 Av to 36 St.
  •   Rockaway Park Shuttle isn’t running during the day and evening.

Major subway service changes

   trains, Brooklyn

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday,    trains aren't running between Junius St and New Lots Av because of accessibility work. 

  • For service between Junius St and New Lots Av, take free T453 shuttle buses, running between these stations making all    stops. 

   trains, Manhattan

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Inwood-207 St and 168 St. 
  •   trains aren't running between 168 St and 145 St. 

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between Inwood-207 St and 168 St, take free shuttle buses, which are running on two routes:
    • Broadway shuttle buses make stops between Inwood-207 St and 168 St. 
    • Fort Washington Av shuttle buses make stops between 190 St and 168 St. 
  • For service to 163 St-Amsterdam Av and 155 St, take   trains, which are stopping at these stations while   trains are ending at 145 St. 
  •   trains are running between 168 St and Queens. 
  •   trains are running between 145 St and Euclid Av. 

   trains, Queens

From 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday:

  •   trains aren't running between Rockaway Blvd and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd.
    •   trains to/from Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd are rerouted to/from Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St.
    • Manhattan-bound   trains aren't stopping at Rockaway Blvd or 88 St.
  •   Rockaway Park Shuttle trains aren't running during the day and evening. 

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between 80 St and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd, take free shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all   stops.
  • For service between Broad Channel and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St, take rerouted   trains.

  trains, Brooklyn

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, Manhattan-bound   trains are running on the   from 36 St to Coney Island-Stillwell Av because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Coney Island-bound train.

   trains, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday: 

  •   trains aren't running between Broadway Junction and Marcy Av, and are running in two sections:
    • Between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Broadway Junction.
    • Between Marcy Av and Broad St.
  •   trains aren't running. 

This is because of structural work.

  • For service between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Marcy Av, take free T410 shuttle buses, which are making all   stops. 
  • For service between Broadway Junction and Marcy Av, take free T433 shuttle buses, which are making all   stops.
  • For service between Marcy Av and Delancey St-Essex St, take the  
  • When exiting the subway at Broadway Junction, Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs, Myrtle Av, and Marcy Av, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter. 

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

From 7:45 a.m. to 12 noon Sunday, Forest Hills-bound   trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island from 57 St-7 Av to 36 St. This is because of signal maintenance. 

  • For service to/from 5 Av-59 St and Lexington Av/59 St, take the   or use nearby 59 St    .
  • For service to/from Queens Plaza, take the   or use nearby Queensboro Plaza   .  

Other subway service changes

Several trains are skipping stops in one direction from Friday night to early Monday morning, unless otherwise specified. For service to/from skipped stops, take a train going the opposite direction.

  • Manhattan-bound   trains aren't stopping at 169 St. 
  • Queens-bound   and    local trains are running express from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to Forest Hills-71 Av.
