Happy Friday, New York! Prepare for a potentially wild summer weekend: On Saturday, the Knicks play game five of the finals and the first World Cup match at NYNJ Stadium will happen. However you choose to participate in the festivities (and, in the case of the Knicks, hopefully celebrate a historic win), we hope you take public transit to get there.
On the subject of the World Cup: Given the thousands of spectators coming to the region for matches, expect larger crowds than normal on subways, buses, and other modes of transit for the next few weeks. We're increasing service on World Cup match days for some subway lines, and some buses will be rerouted or detoured. Check out our World Cup 2026 travel guide for more information.
