MTA Weekender: March 27-30, 2026

There are service changes on the subway this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.

And you're a Yankees fan and were worried about being left out after our Redbird nostalgia train for the Mets home opener yesterday, don't be. For the Yankees home opener next Friday, April 3, we and the Transit Museum are running two nostalgia trains from Grand Central-42 St to 161 St-Yankee Stadium on the  , giving you the chance to ride 1917 IRT Low-Vs or the iconic Redbirds for the price of a regular subway ride.

Here's what's happening on the subway this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •   trains aren't running between Woodlawn and 161 St-Yankee Stadium.
  • Queens-bound   trains are running on the   from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Jay St-MetroTech.
  • Euclid Av-bound   trains are running on the   from 59 St-Columbus Circle to 34 St-Herald Sq and on the   to Jay St-MetroTech.
  •   trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
  •   trains aren't running between Queensboro Plaza and 57 St-7 Av, and are running in two sections.
  •   trains aren't running between 96 St and Kings Hwy.
  •   trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island between 36 St and 57 St-7 Av.

Major subway service changes

  trains, the Bronx

  trains aren't running between Woodlawn and 161 St-Yankee Stadium from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service between Woodlawn and Bedford Park Blvd-Lehman College, take free shuttle buses, which are running between Woodlawn and Bedford Park Blvd  , stopping at Mosholu Pkwy and Bedford Park Blvd-Lehman College.
  • For service between Bedford Park Blvd and 161 St-Yankee Stadium, use nearby ​  stations along Grand Concourse.
  •   trains are running between 161 St-Yankee Stadium and Brooklyn.

   trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  • Queens-bound   trains are running on the   from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Jay St-MetroTech.
  • Euclid Av-bound   trains are running on the   from 59 St-Columbus Circle to 34 St-Herald Sq and on the   to Jay St-MetroTech.

This is because of signal modernization.

  • For service between 59 St-Columbus Circle and and W 4 St-Wash Sq, take the   or a downtown  .
    • Downtown   trains are stopping at 50 St and 23 St all weekend.
  • For service to/from Spring St, Canal St, and Chambers St/World Trade Center, take the   or an uptown   .
  • For service to/from Fulton St, take the   or use nearby World Trade Center  .
  • For High St, use nearby York St  .

  trains, Brooklyn and Queens

  trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of signal modernization.

  • For service between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, take free B98 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all   stops.
  • When exiting the subway at Court Sq, Lorimer St (Metropolitan Av), or Bedford-Nostrand Avs, get a GO Ticket from a station agent for re-entry.
  •   trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.

   trains, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Queensboro Plaza and 57 St-7 Av, and are running in two sections:
    • Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza.
    • Between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 57 St-7 Av and on the   to/from 96 St.
  •   trains aren't running between 96 St and Kings Hwy.
    •   trains are running between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between Queens and Manhattan, take the  .
  • For direct service between Manhattan/Downtown Brooklyn and Coney Island, take     trains.
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St and 5 Av/59 St, use nearby 59 St    .
  • For service between 96 St and 57 St-7 Av, take the  .
  • For service between 57 St-7 Av and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take    trains.
    •   trains are stopping at DeKalb Av all weekend.
  • For service between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Kings Hwy, take free shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all   stops.

  trains, Manhattan and Queens

  trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island between 36 St and 57 St-7 Av in both directions all day Saturday and Sunday because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from Queens Plaza, take the  .
  • For service to/from Lexington Av/59 St and 5 Av/59 St, use nearby 59 St    .

Other subway service changes

  trains, the Bronx and Manhattan

Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Van Cortlandt Park-242 St to 215 St from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Van Cortlandt Park-bound train.

    trains, Manhattan

Uptown    trains are running local from Grand Central-42 St to 125 St from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • During the day and evening   trains are running every 20 minutes and   trains are running every 8 minutes while     trains share the local track.

  trains, the Bronx

On Saturday from 7:15 a.m to 7 p.m., Eastchester-bound   trains aren't stopping at Morris Park, Gun Hill Rd, and Baychester Av because of maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
  • At Pelham Pkwy, all   trains are stopping at the Manhattan-bound platform.

  trains, the Bronx

Manhattan-bound   trains are running express from Pelham Bay Park to Hunts Point Av, stopping only at Parkchester, from 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday because of signal work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.

Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Hunts Point Av to 3 Av-138 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.
  • At 3 Av-138 St, all trains are boarding from the Pelham Bay Park-bound platform.

   trains, Brooklyn

Jamaica Center-bound   and Middle Village-bound   trains are running nonstop from Marcy Av to Myrtle Av from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station work.

  • For service to/from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
