Happy second weekend of May, riders. National Train Day is this weekend, and we hope you join us in celebrating by, well, riding the train!
A heads up for our riders: As we continue station renewals along the , some major service changes are coming up this summer. This weekend, trains aren't running between 74 St-Broadway and 34 St-Hudson Yards. Then, beginning Monday morning through Friday, May 22, Manhattan-bound trains will skip some stops in Queens while we make structural improvements. Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

Major subway service changes
trains, Manhattan and Queens
From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m. Monday:
- trains aren't running between 74 St-Broadway and 34 St-Hudson Yards.
- Flushing-bound trains are running express from 74 St-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point.
- At Junction Blvd, all trains are stopping at the Manhattan-bound platform.
This is because of station work.
- For service between 74 St-Broadway and 34 St-Hudson Yards, take free shuttle buses, which are running along three routes:
- For service between Queens and Manhattan, take trains.
- The LIRR is accommodating subway riders traveling between Queens and Manhattan at no additional cost at Flushing, Mets-Willets Point, Woodside, Grand Central Madison, and Penn Station.
- When exiting the subway at Queensboro Plaza or Court Sq, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
- 42 St Shuttle trains are running all weekend, including overnight.
- For service between 74 St-Broadway and Mets-Willets Point, take a 74 St-bound train.
trains, Brooklyn
From 4 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, trains are running in two sections:
- Between 8 Av and Broadway Junction, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.
- Between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.
This is because of signal work.
- Transfer at Broadway Junction to continue your trip.
- At Broadway Junction, trains to/from Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy are stopping at the platforms.
Other subway service changes
trains, Manhattan
From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, trains are stopping at 79 St and 86 St in both directions because of structural maintenance.
- trains are running every 8 minutes.
- trains are running every 12 minutes.
trains, the Bronx
From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, Manhattan-bound trains aren't stopping at Mosholu Pkwy because of track replacement.
- For service to/from Mosholu Pkwy, take a Woodlawn-bound train.
- During the day and evening, trains are running every 8 minutes between Brooklyn and Kingsbridge Rd and every 16 minutes between Kingsbridge Rd and Woodlawn.
- The last stop for alternate trains toward Woodlawn is Kingsbridge Rd. Transfer to a Woodlawn-bound train to continue your trip.
trains, the Bronx
From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound trains are running express from Parkchester to 3 Av-138 St because of track replacement.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.
trains, Brooklyn
From 9:30 p.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Monday, Euclid Av-bound trains and Queens-bound local trains aren't stopping at Ralph Av and Rockaway Av because of structural work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
trains, Brooklyn
From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound trains are running nonstop from 18 Av to Kings Hwy because of station work.
- For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
