MTA Weekender: October 9-12, 2026

There are service changes on the New York City subway this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.
Updated October 9, 2026 11:15 a.m.

Happy Friday, riders! The forecast calls for rain on Sunday, but we're looking at a 10/10 start to the weekend. You know what that means: It's time to get your autumn sweater out of storage and embrace all things fall, whether that's leaf peeping, picking apples, or Halloween pre-pre-gaming. Whatever you end up doing, we hope you use public transit to get there.

Here's the major changes for thisweekend (also viewable as a map):

  •   trains aren't running between Hunts Point Av and 125 St.
  •   trains aren't running between 8 Av and Lorimer St.
  •   trains aren't running between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

For more details, keep on scrolling. We've also got travel alternatives for stations that will be closed or skipped.

And don't forget to sign up for the MTA Weekender newsletter sent every Friday. You'll get these service changes directly in your inbox, with more than enough time to plan your weekend travel.
