Updated Nov 20, 2025
TRACKS is a free community outreach program designed to educate people about safety on and near railroad grade crossings and tracks.

TRACKS: Together Railroads And Communities Keeping Safe

TRACKS is Metro-North Railroad’s free community outreach program dedicated to promoting safety around railroad grade crossings and tracks. We offer engaging presentations and educational resources to schools, summer camps, civic groups, driving schools, and transportation companies, empowering people of all ages to stay safe near railroads.

Our mission is to build safer communities throughout the Metro-North Railroad service area by raising awareness and encouraging responsible behavior around trains, tracks, and grade crossings.

For more information about the TRACKS program, please call 212-340-2292 or email us at MNRTracks@mnr.org. We’re happy to answer your questions or help schedule a presentation in your community.

Meet TRACKS the Dog!

TRACKS is Metro-North's friendly safety mascot, designed to help teach children and families about the importance of railroad safety in a fun and approachable way. With his approachable and cheerful attitude, TRACKS brings energy and warmth to our presentations, making safety messages memorable and meaningful for audiences of all ages.
