MTA Weekender: April 17-20, 2026

There are service changes on the subway and LIRR this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.

If you're traveling to JFK airport  this weekend, note that  ​ trains aren't running to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport. Take the   to Howard Beach-JFK Airport or the  ​ to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a map):

  •   trains aren't running between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av.
  •   trains aren't running between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Brooklyn.
  •   trains aren't running between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green.
  •   trains aren't running between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway-Mott Av.
  • Inwood-bound   and 168 St-bound   trains are running on the   from Jay St-MetroTech to W 4 St-Wash Sq.
  •   trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
  •   trains aren't running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St.
  •   Rockaway Park Shuttle isn't running.

Major subway service changes

  trains, Brooklyn

  trains aren't running between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av in either direction from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track replacement.

  • For service between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av, take free B99 shuttle buses, which are making all   stops.

    trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Crown Hts-Utica Av or New Lots Av.
    •   trains are running between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, local in Manhattan.
  •   trains aren't running between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green.
    • During the day and evening,  trains are running between Eastchester-Dyre Av and Grand Central-42 St, every 12 minutes.
  •   trains are running every 8 minutes during the day and evening.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between Grand Central-42 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, take the  .
  • For service to/from Fulton St, Wall St, and Bowling Green, use nearby   or   stations.
  • For direct service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take     trains.
  • For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College, take    trains.
  • For service between Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College and Crown Hts-Utica Av, take the  .
  • For service between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av:
    • From 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, take free B99 shuttle buses, which are making all   stops while the   terminates at Crown Hts-Utica Av.
    • All other times, take the  , which is running to/from New Lots Av. 

   trains, Queens

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway-Mott Av.
    •   trains are running between Inwood-207 St and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd or Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St.
  •   Rockaway Park Shuttle isn't running.

This is because of structural work.

  • For service between Beach 67 St and Far Rockaway-Mott Av, take free T354 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations and Beach 90 St making all   stops.
  • For service between Broad Channel and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St, take the  .

   trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

Inwood-bound   and 168 St-bound   trains are running on the   from Jay St-MetroTech to W 4 St-Wash Sq from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. This is because of track work.

  • For service to/from High St, use nearby York St  .
  • For service to/from Fulton St, take the   or use nearby World Trade Center  .
  • For service to/from Chambers St/World Trade Center and Canal St, take the   or a downtown   .
  • For service to/from Spring St, take an uptown   train, or use nearby Broadway-Lafayette St or W 4 St-Wash Sq.

    trains, Manhattan

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  • Downtown   and   local trains are running express from 59 St-Columbus Circle to Canal St.
  • Downtown   trains are running express from 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal to Canal St. 

This is because of signal work.

  • For service to/from 50 St, take the   or an uptown    train.
    • Uptown   trains are stopping at 50 St all weekend.
  • For service to/from 23 St, take an uptown     train.
    • Uptown   trains are stopping at 23 St all weekend.
  • For service to/from Spring St, take an uptown   train.

  trains, Brooklyn and Queens

  trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of signal modernization.

  • For service between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, take free T403 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all   stops.
  • When exiting the subway at Court Sq, Lorimer St (Metropolitan Av), or Bedford-Nostrand Avs, get a GO Ticket from a station agent for re-entry.
  •   trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av, every 10 minutes during the day and evening.

  trains, Brooklyn and Queens

  trains aren't running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • For service between 121 St and Crescent St, free J90 shuttle buses are running between Jamaica Van-Wyck   and Crescent St, making all   stops between 121 St and Crescent St.
    • When exiting the subway at Jamaica-Van Wyck or Crescent St, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • For service to/from Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport, take the  .
  • For service to JFK Airport , take the   to Howard Beach-JFK Airport or the  ​ to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport.
  •   trains are running between Crescent St and Broad St.

Other subway service changes

Several trains are skipping stops in one direction from Friday night to early Monday morning, unless otherwise specified. For service to/from skipped stops, take a train going the opposite direction:

  • South Ferry-bound   trains are running nonstop from Van Cortlandt Park-242 St to 215 St from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station work.
    • For service to skipped stations, also consider the Bx9 bus.
  • Flushing-bound   trains are running express from 74 St-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point because of station work.
    • At Junction Blvd, all trains are boarding from the Manhattan-bound platform.
  • Queens-bound   local and Euclid Av-bound   trains are running express from Hoyt-Schemerhorn Sts to Utica Av because of station work.
  • Jamaica-bound   and   trains are not stopping at Briarwood. Jamaica-bound   trains are not stopping at Sutphin Blvd and 169 St. This is because of signal modernization.
    • For service from 169 St, take the Q1, Q2, Q3, Q17 or Q36 buses instead.
  • Manhattan-bound   and   trains are running nonstop from Myrtle Av to Marcy Av from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of structural work.
    • At Myrtle Av, all trains board from the Jamaica Center/Metropolitan Av-bound platform.
  • Manhattan-bound   trains are running nonstop from Astoria Blvd to Queensboro Plaza from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of station work.
  • Uptown    and   local trains are running express from Canal St to 34 St-Herald Sq because of station work.
  • Manhattan-bound   and   local trains are running nonstop from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to Queens Plaza. Manhattan-bound   local trains are running nonstop from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to 21 St-Queensbridge. This is because of accessibility work.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

City Terminal Zone

From 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, westbound trains aren't stopping at Forest Hills or Kew Gardens and westbound trains toward Jamaica aren't stopping at Woodside. This is because of accessibility work.

  • Westbound trains are running nonstop from Jamaica to Manhattan. Port Washington Branch trains are still stopping at Woodside.
  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take the subway.
    • Show your LIRR ticket to enter the subway at no additional cost at Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av  , Forest Hills-71 Av    , Kew Gardens-Union Tpke   , and Woodside-61 St  .

Hempstead Branch

Hempstead Branch trains aren't running from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 3:30 a.m. Monday because of signal work.

  • For westbound service to/from Hollis, Queens Village, and Elmont-UBS Arena, take a Huntington train.
  • For eastbound service to/from Hollis, Queens Village, and Elmont-UBS Arena, take MTA buses, which are accepting LIRR tickets on nearby routes.
  • For service to/from Floral Park, take a Huntington train.
  • For service to/from Stewart Manor, Nassau Boulevard, Garden City, and Hempstead, take shuttle buses, which are running between these stations and Mineola.
  • For service to/from Bellerose and Country Life Press, take NICE buses, which are accepting LIRR tickets on nearby routes.

Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches

Eastbound trains aren't stopping at Hollis, Queens Village, and Elmont-UBS Arena from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday because of switch replacement.

  • For service to/from Hollis, Queens Village, and Elmont-UBS Arena, take MTA buses, which are accepting LIRR tickets for travel between these stations and Jamaica. View a map of your route options and learn more about transferring at the Jamaica Bus Terminal.
